Kraken BioFuels turns city waste into a closed-loop engine for energy and compute. Municipal solid waste is sorted, recyclables are recovered, and the rest is gasified into syngas to generate electricity. That power feeds both the grid and our captive NVIDIA L40S–based AI data center, while inert residues are repurposed instead of landfilled—transforming a disposal problem into a circular infrastructure asset.
From Trash to Teraflops
-
We take a systems view of the city. Incoming municipal waste is sorted, recyclables are recovered, and the remaining fraction is dried and gasified at high temperatures to produce clean syngas. That syngas drives engine‑generators that power both the grid and our captive NVIDIA L40S–based AI data center. Waste heat and inert residues are repurposed wherever possible, shrinking the project’s footprint and emissions. By co‑locating waste, power, and compute, we create a circular asset instead of three separate problems.

We partner with city authorities and utilities on long-term waste supply and power offtake agreements. We collaborate with global technology OEMs for gasification, engines, cooling, and AI hardware, and with EPCs who can deliver world-class plants in emerging markets. On the demand side, we serve AI labs, enterprises, and cloud providers that need low-carbon, high-performance compute. Development finance institutions, infrastructure investors, and climate funds join us to scale this model across other cities.
